With more than 28 years of experience in public libraries and technology leadership, I bring a unique, multidisciplinary perspective to the challenges libraries face today. My career began in I.T., where I spent the majority of my time managing infrastructure, digital resources, and vendor partnerships. But even while leading technology projects, I was drawn to another calling: developing people.
During my years in I.T., staff often approached me with concerns about career growth, workplace stress, and how to navigate change. Instead of staying narrowly focused on technology, I used my academic background — a Master’s in Training & Development, an M.Sc. in Engineering Technology, a B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering Technology, and an MBA — to design programs that addressed those deeper needs. You can view my full list of credentials and certifications here.
I created a nine-month Career Development Mentorship Program, helping non-managerial support staff build confidence, explore career pathways, and prepare for promotions or lateral moves. I also developed and delivered a Stress Management series, blending workplace strategies with holistic practices like mindfulness and gentle yoga to help staff manage triggers and build resilience.
These experiences revealed something powerful: leadership in libraries isn’t just about managing systems — it’s about cultivating people. That realization continues to shape my work today.
Now, as a consultant, I help libraries bridge the gap between technology, leadership, and organizational development. My services span:
- Leadership Development – cohort programs, executive coaching, and succession planning.
- Technology & Innovation Strategy – aligning infrastructure and digital services with community needs.
- Operational & Organizational Strategy – streamlining workflows and building collaborative cultures.
- Wellness & Resilience – equipping leaders and teams to thrive in high-demand environments.
In addition to my formal degrees, I hold advanced training and certifications in both executive-level I.T. leadership and holistic wellness. These include Certified Government Chief Information Officer (CGCIO), ITMLE, and Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), alongside credentials in holistic wellness, yoga, coaching, and end-of-life care. These credentials allow me to bring unique perspectives on resilience, balance, and human development into my consulting practice — an approach that values not just organizational success but also the well-being of the people who make libraries thrive.
Whether I’m advising executives, training staff, or designing mentorship frameworks, my mission is the same: to empower libraries and their leaders to grow stronger, healthier, and more resilient for the communities they serve.
