Root Chakra
Sanskrit: Muladhara
Location: Base of the spine
Colors: Red
Element: Earth
Verb: I have
In a Word: Evolution
Located at the base of the spine, it is vital to our survival instincts and provides our sense of grounding and connection to our physical bodies and to the physical/Earth plane. It brings healthy, prosperity, security, and dynamic presence and thus is associated with assurance and determination.
When balanced, the (divine) masculine and (divine) feminine energies are working together. However, when unbalanced, the feminine aspects disappear and one can become overbearing, endure ego difficulties, limited interest in practical matters of life, and lack energy.
