Located below the navel in the lower abdomen (hips), lower back (sacrum), and sexual organs comes the SACRAL CHAKRA. With water as its element, its area of focus is the emotions, emotional stability, and emotional identity, and thus links to the emotional body. Connected to procreation and bringing forth new life, it also brings fluidity and grace, ability to accept change, depth of feeling, and of course, sexual fulfillment.

When balanced, adaptability and flexibility comes easy and thus one is able to be open, relatable, and has good coping skills. However, when unbalanced, causes one to exhibit emotional distress from being uncertain/doubtful or insecure, leading to low or lack of self-esteem/self-worth or fearing one’s own demise (in extreme circumstances).

  • Also known as the spleen or sexual chakra
  • Used for creativity, vitality, and sexual expression – sex magic, Tantric sex
  • Governs sex and the flow of the body fluids and energy
  • In women, its center is the ovaries and in men, the testes
  • Can also extend to the kidneys, gall bladder, and the remainder of the reproductive system
  • Often confused with the Womb Chakra, which also connects with the reproductive system, one’s birth mother and to the Divine Mother
